30pm, Monday-Friday Responsibilities The Registrar schedules, greets and registers the patients in a courteous and professional manner.
The Registrar verifies insurance benefits and checks for authorization, pre-certification, physician order accuracy and referral necessity.
Essential Functions:
Obtains patients' signatures for required forms and collects patient financial responsibility when required.
Utilizes appropriate and professional verbal communication skills when conversing with patients and other internal and external customers on the telephone and in person to convey a high level of personal attention and promote customer satisfaction.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate knowledge of insurance and managed care plans.
Reads insurance memos and bulletins, maintains files and utilizes online insurance tools to assist patients and ensure the correct handling of payer information.
Accurately records and verifies all patient information when interviewing patients/representatives to ensure completeness of patient records.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND
Experience:
High school diploma/GED.
1 year of patient access/registration, admissions, central scheduling or call center experience required.
